Think Less Drow More

Think Less Drow More is a daily doodling and drawing project I started in 2009, as a way of processing my thoughts while creating new artwork everyday. I start with an ink drawing or doodle then add colours, texture or a photo background using Photoshop to create the finished artwork.

HISTORY

After graduating from University back in 2009, I found myself at a crossroad as to what do with my life. I’ve been drawing since I was a kid but I’ve always questioned if I was an Artist. So I wrote an entry on my old blog asking: What is an artist? Is an artist born or made? Should you do what you love even if gets you nowhere?

It was an open letter, and to my surprise I received a reply from Avid Liongoren, a very talented Filipino artist whose 365 drawing project (of monsters, robots and creatures from out of this world) I’ve been following for a while. What he told me is the most important advice I’ve ever received in my creative life. He told me to be an Artist by practice not by title, that if I keep drawing instead of thinking, I will hone my skills and become better at my craft. From then on, it became my mantra to stop worrying and to just create, to put my thoughts on paper and out of my head. And that’s the “Think Less Drow More” project began.
