Lomography South America

I saw the film Diarios de Motocicletas (Motorcycle Diaries) about a year before my trip to South America. It is based on the book of the same title, which I’ve also read, that chronicles young Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s Latin American journey with his travel companion Alberto Granado.

In the scene where Che finally reaches Machu Picchu, he asks himself:

¿Cómo es posible que sienta nostalgia por un mundo que nunca conocí?

How is it possible to feel nostalgia for a world I never knew?

That’s how I felt when I visited this strangely familiar continent myself and these are some of the snapshots I took with my old film camera. These pictures of Peru, Chile and Argentina look as nostalgic as I felt the moment I took them.
